Derby’s children egg-static by Easter donation

Easter is the time to celebrate springtime, indulge in a little too much chocolate and enjoy the eggs-tra long weekend !

It really is a wonderful time of year, but there is one more reason why we are loving Easter so much this year and that’s because our lovely employees are donating Easter eggs to local children’s charity, Children First Derby. Children First Derby are a charity who work with vulnerable children, young people and families to make a positive impact in their lives and in the local community.

Here at Ford & Stanley, we know that the Easter holidays can be a difficult time for young people up and down the UK. So, supported by Children First Derby, we are donating in excess of 60 Easter eggs to the charity who will distribute before the Easter break. The eggs were bought by individuals from all divisions of the business; everyone loved the idea and couldn’t wait to get involved.

Organiser and Marketing Executive, Ashleigh Lancaster commented, “With all the chocolate, bank holidays and improving weather (or perhaps not…), it can be easy to forget that there are those without this Easter. Children First Derby ensure that families and children who are struggling still get to enjoy the things we often take for granted. Ford & Stanley regularly get involved with charity events throughout the year, but the team have really outdone themselves this time. Within an hour of letting people know of the donation, I was receiving Easter Eggs by the bag load!”

Children First Derby’s Danny Smith, Chief Executive added: “We at Children First Derby are always impressed by peoples generosity in donating Easter eggs at this time of year for the disadvantaged children that we support. Through our supervised contact, family support and mentoring services we work with over 200 Derby children and young people every year. Donations, such as this from the staff at Ford & Stanley, ensure that every one of those children (and in many cases their siblings too) can receive a gift at Easter. This is fantastic and we all really appreciate these gifts.
