A lucky day at the races for Ford & Stanley and our guests

Celebrating women working in rail, Ford & Stanley invited some of our valued clients to Doncaster Races for St Leger’s festival – Ladies Day.


At Ford & Stanley, we are conscious that the rail industry ‘appears’ to be a male-dominated industry, which is why we thought it only appropriate to organise an event that focussed on celebrating the many women working in rail. As such, alongside our friends at SNC Lavalin, Ford & Stanley hosted a hospitality box at the 2018 St Leger’s Festival Ladies Day at Doncaster Races.
 
Held on Thursday 13th September 2018 and joined by some of our valued clients and contacts within the industry, Ford & Stanley dressed to impress in our Sunday best and headed North for the day.

We departed from Derby at 10:00, arriving in Doncaster with plenty of time to enjoy a glass of bubbly or two at The Earle of Doncaster before walking over to the Racecourse – luckily for us, the weather held out all day, as we are pretty sure fascinators aren’t 100% waterproof… !!

It’s safe to say we were blown away with the view from our hospitality box as we toasted our champagne and of course – placed our bets!


With 7 races in total, tension reached it’s peak for the final race at 17:10. The race was won by ‘Picture No Sound’ – a lucky horse for a couple on our table ! After a delicious array of food and drink throughout the day, we congratulated those who won, before returning back to Derby (not including those who stayed on to watch Martin Kemp DJ – who added a touch of “Gold” to what was already a fabulous day).
